e-SPECS PRODUCTS

Q. What is the difference between the e-SPECS products?

A. e-SPECS Linx is our stand-alone editor, with our patented checklist technology and expanded editing functionality.

e-SPECS for Revit possess all the functionality of e-SPECS Linx, with the additional possibility of integration with Autodesk’s Revit applications.

e-SPECS Designer is a separate application that allows firms to integrate a custom office master or extend their existing spec library for use within both e-SPECS Linx and e-SPECS for Revit.

Q. Do you offer a trial copy?

A. Due to our partner agreements, we are not currently able to offer a trial copy. We do offer regularly scheduled webinars and 1-on-1 demos, as well as a 30 day right-of-return on all software products.

Q. Does e-SPECS install on a server?

A. e-SPECS is a SQL server based application. We ship with Microsoft SQL Server Express (which is a freely distributed copy for those firms without a server installed).

Q. What is e-SPECS Desktop?

A. A free software application used to provide redline/markup capabilities to e-SPECS based projects.

LICENSING

Q. What licensing options do you offer?

A. Both annual Term licenses or Perpetual licenses are available.

Q. What is the difference between Term and Perpetual licensing?

A. Term based licensing is a yearly subscription to use the e-SPECS software. Perpetual licensing gives your firm ownership of the software, with yearly software maintenance to cover technical support and product updates.

Q. Do I pay this yearly?

A. As we offer Term and Perpetual licensing options, there are different options for your yearly cost. Term licenses are paid annually. Perpetual is a one-time fee with optional maintenance each year to keep receiving upgrades, updates, and access to live tech support.

Q. What happens if I don’t pay my perpetual maintenance?

A. If a firm does not pay the perpetual maintenance, your firm will not receive live technical support, updates or upgrades to the software. You will still have access to all current projects as well as the current functionality of the software.

Q. Is this a floating network license or per-PC install?

A. e-SPECS Linx and e-SPECS for Revit are licensed on a floating, concurrent network license. This means any number of office computers may have the software installed, but the system will check out the purchased of seats on a first-come, first-serve basis. e-SPECS Designer and the e-SPECS for Revit Plugin are licensed on a per-PC install.

Q. Do you operate with Apple computers?

A. e-SPECS will function in a Mac/Apple environment when using Boot Camp, which is freely included with every Apple desktop or laptop. Or you can purchase Parallels to run Windows on a Mac environment.
